AAS Foundation (formerly AAS Trust) is a private, non-profit organisation in Karachi, Lahore and Gilgit that provides treatment, rehabilitation and aftercare to adults and children suffering from substance abuse and/or addiction.
The Foundation runs 7 rehabilitation and aftercare centres in Karachi and 1 in Lahore & Gilgit each – reaching out to those unattended underprivileged of our society who have fallen victim to substance abuse / addiction and / or trauma. At our centres, we offer a caring, respectful and comfortable environment, which fosters recovery through
- counselling and therapy
- formal and non-formal education
- recreational activities and vocational training.
After its establishment in 2000, the AAS Foundation launched its first rehabilitation facility for drug dependent adult men in P.E.C.H.S., Karachi. In 2006, with support from the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) and the AntiNarcotics Force (ANF), the Foundation expanded its services by initiating a detoxificationcumrehabilitation project for destitute children in Malir, Karachi.
Further growth followed in 2018 with the inauguration of an adult men’s centre in Jubilee Town, Lahore. Responding to the rising number of homeless women experiencing substance use and related vulnerabilities, the Foundation established a dedicated women’s centre in Model Colony, Karachi, in February 2019.
Building on this trajectory and recognising the need for services in the northern region, the AAS Foundation extended its outreach by inaugurating the Gilgit Adult Centre in October 2025. Besides providing services to our counselees, we conduct awareness sessions with their families and have also taken steps towards containing this menace with the assistance from local and federal governments. To date, the AAS Foundation has supported around 15,000 patients, achieving a 37% recovery and success rate across its primary centres. This rate increases significantly for clients who continue their rehabilitation journey through the halfway house and schoolhouse programmes. The Foundation remains committed to helping individuals overcome addiction and rebuild productive, drug-free lives.
